How brightly I must have shined, to you,
To be picked out of thousands.
And though you have stripped me
Now, unrecognizable in the mirror
No sweet petals. No soft scent.
I know that this decomposing self
Will give life once again.
And though I will be shining
My power
My strength
My softness
My sweetness
Will be unrecognizable to you
Because you cannot see what you don’t know.
“We have to understand the middle path: That a human has a positive and a negative side. We have a false, ignorant side, but we also have a beautiful potential – Buddha nature.”— Lama Yeshe

“Your first priority should be to find your own quiet space inside so you can learn more about yourself. This includes getting to know and understand your own suffering. When your practice is solid and you’ve already harvested some of the sweet fruits of getting to know yourself, you can consider ways you can make more room to bring silence, deep looking, understanding, and compassion into your work or community.”— Thich Nhat Hanh

’m not sure I’ll ever stop dreaming of a glasshouse to call my own. Even a tumbledown one like this, held together with tape and bubblewrap, weeds growing up through the cracks. It’s a plant-lovers wabisabi paradise. 🌿
